Terms of service

Last updated: May 13, 2026.

Plain language

These terms are intentionally short. By using Foclock — the extension, this site, or the API — you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use Foclock.

What Foclock is

A browser extension that blocks websites and helps you focus. A small Cloudflare-hosted API that handles sign-in, paid-tier purchases, and optional cross-device sync.

The free tier

Free features are free forever. We will not retroactively gate features that were free. We may add new features behind the lifetime tier, but existing free features stay free.

The lifetime tier

A one-time payment unlocks the lifetime tier on your account for as long as Foclock exists as a product.

If we raise the price later, the people who paid earlier keep their original deal.

If Foclock shuts down (we will give six months' notice), we will open-source what we can and refund pro-rated payments where legally required.

Commitment lock — read this

The commitment lock cannot be cancelled from the settings UI until the timer ends, and we have no way to lift it for you. The one physical escape is disabling Foclock from your browser's extensions page — that is a fundamental limit of browser extensions and we cannot prevent it. Treat that extra step as the friction you are buying, not a backdoor.

Please use it on yourself, not on people who did not ask.

Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund on any paid tier, no questions asked. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion (e.g. accidental double-charge).

Liability

Foclock is provided as-is. We will do our best to keep it running and safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that every block rule will work against every site forever.

Our maximum liability to you is, at most, what you paid us (which is at most $19).

Changes

If we change these terms in a material way, we will note it on this page and, for account holders, send an email. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
